5 Second pausing with 1080p DTS films.
Has anybody been able to fix the ongoing issue with 1080p DTS video pausing every 5 seconds?
I thought I had fix it be using a different SD card but now the problem is back again and I can't pin it down to anything at the moment. I'm running the videos from a Windows Server 2008 R2 box using samba. I know this setup to work absolutely fine as it has in the past been used to stream these exact files to a PCH-200 a few months ago before the damn thing blew up. I'm now currently running RC3 but have had this problem with RC2 but did get it working magically and put it down to the SD cards. But with the same SD card now the fault has come back. The same film in 720p also with DTS runs fine so it points to this not being a DTS issue maybe? I havn't tried a non DTS film in 1080p tho. Things I've tried; Different psu Removed all USB devices 2x Class4 and 2x Class10 Kingston SSD cards Sync Playback to display = Audio Clock Disabling/Enabling DTS Enabled Receiver Disabling/Enabling Dolby AC3 receiver Clocked the CPU at 850 Formated each SD card using the http://www.sdcard.org tool and then re-installed Unset "Settings - Video - Playback - Adjust display refresh rate to match video" m.min_free_kbytes=20480 <cachemembuffersize>5242880 <cachemembuffersize>12582912 rpi-update Ideas? Suggestions? |

Set screen refresh rate to 30Hz within xbmc and unset "sync playback to display"

Try setting A/V sync to Audio Clock.

In RC2 i was able to get rid of it. Same test movie in RC3 pausing. I'm going to work on it some tonight and see whats going on. I stream over NFS from a CentOS server. |

Ditto with RC2, I did manage to get rid of the problem by changing some of the things listed in my first post.

RE: 5 Second pausing with 1080p DTS films.
Here sometimes the same movie plays with 1 or 2 pauses at the beginning of playback and no more pauses, other times it's keep pausing in regular intervals.
We need to find out what's causing this behaviour first... Is it network related? Is it CPU? I don't think it's either one alone but a combination of factors, that's why it's random. * Samsung 8GB SDHC Class 10 (MB-MP8GA) * Patriot Supersonic Boost XT 16GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive * Energizer Charger 5V/1000mA * MCE RC6 Remote * Confluence@720p * ARM@1000/CORE@400/SDRAM@500/OV@6 * up_threshold@50 |

RE: 5 Second pausing with 1080p DTS films.
I'll try to borrow a USB HDD for tonight so I can load the same files onto that as well as plugging the USB HDD into a powered hub. I don't have a USB mem stick big enough otherwise I would have tried this by now.
I surprised that many more people are not experiencing the same problem! |

RE: 5 Second pausing with 1080p DTS films.
i tested 720p DTS and 1080p DTS of wrath of the titans both played fine off USB Pen drive.
Over network the 1080p stutters on a 100mb FDX lan. Maybe either a poor network driver or the network LAN takes CPU time... |
