Username and Password

I feel really stupid for asking this but the username and password aren't working. I've looked on the faq's and it says the default username and password are pi and raspberry, i'v tried to reinstall the image and it still won't accept this username and password. Has anybody else had this problem?

XBMC will boot automatically (after 20 seconds or so) using RC1 or RC2 so if it faces you with a log on screen for longer than that, it's not been copied over correctly to the SD card.

after finding another thread
i used this image instead http://download.raspbmc.com/downloads/bi...ing.img.gz and it worked on the first try
