Crystalbuntu USB and ssh?
Hi there,
I'm a total newbie, my problem is that I can't create a patchstick (tried 7 different keys with no luck) so I finally tried Crystalbuntu on USB and have it running.
I don't have mouse or keybord so I'd like to:
enable ssh or telnet
configure my wifi network
make installation on HDD
use Atv first gen as media server.

Believe me I googled everywhere and could'nt get answers so please point me in the right direction.

THANKS A LOT!

Luca

We need to know what kind of system your on for exact instructions.
Assuming your on the same network by being plugged in over ethernet,

look up ip address in xbmc. system, system info
In a terminal ,
"ssh atv@ipadress"
password is atv

so to be clear, your username and pass word is atv. Since you know what telnet and ssh is I assume you can get to a terminal or ssh client.

Hi, thanks for your follow up.
I'm using OS X, how do I find the IP address?
Do I have to start on ethernet, then install wifi?

Thnx

RE: Crystalbuntu USB and ssh?
Yes you have to start with ethernet.
Your Ip address is under system info in xbmc.

RE: Crystalbuntu USB and ssh?
Hi there,

I was able to mount the internal drive, unfortunately it's now empty...
Now I'm struggling with wi fi, I found some tutorials but I can get them to work...starting from the SSD, what is that??

I have to point out that: atv1 still have internal drive and wifi card, I'm using OS X 10.7

Thanks for your precious help

RE: Crystalbuntu USB and ssh?
your going to have to follow This Tutorial To get wireless to work. SSD means solid state drive, ignore that.
