I use raspbmc to play my movies on the TV. its work really greate over all! the only problem is. if I play a 1080p movie over a SSH connection (via xbmc intregratet support) connection I get a buffering message every few min. and the movie will freez for this time. have anyone a idea to fix it? |

RE: Play movies over Network -> Buffering
Why would you play over SSH? SMB/CIFS or NFS or uPnP are not good enough for you?

RE: Play movies over Network -> Buffering
its a problem about my access rights ;-)
the server isnt local at my home and the easyest way to get a working connection is ssh. ![]() but i dont think that this is the problem for the puffering. its not a big job to use a ssh connection even for an arm. |

RE: Play movies over Network -> Buffering
From the Wiki:
Quote:Choose HDMI (OMX) as both your Audio output Device and Passthrough output devicehttp://www.raspbmc.com/wiki/user/sound/ I can't see any option to select passthrough? ![]() (using RC3). |

Hello,
passthrough should be activated if the options in circle are marked. ![]() Also you should see if passthrough is active the message when trying to change the volume. |

RE: Play movies over Network -> Buffering
i hade this problem to...
fix it with that... http://cybernetnews.com/xbmc-troubleshoo...ng-issues/ changed the "advancedsettings.xml" <network> <cachemembuffersize>5242880</cachemembuffersize> </network> the default is "5242880 bytes (= 5MB)" to "52428800 bytes (= 50MB)" and that fix everything... u can use "524288000 bytes (= 500MB)" but i dont thinks that the RPI is strong for that, but you can try... |

RE: Play movies over Network -> Buffering
I passthrough AC3 and DTS to my external Decoder.
I also change the cachemembuffsize up to 96MB, this works better but there are still buffering times. If I change up to 100MB or above of it the movie will stop every few sec. I think this is to much for the rasp pi. It seems its to much for the rasp pi to play a 1080p movie AND gets enought new data via SSH. |
